Local Food
Halloumi: Goat Cheese originated in Cyprus, made during the Medieval Byzantine period and it became popular throughout the rest of the Middle East.
The Recipe: Grill the cheese first and then put fresh origan, fresh mint, some olive oil and lime. The best taste ever!
Prawn Saganaki: is Greece’s famous seafood dish, featuring prawns cooked with fresh juicy tomato sauce, ouzo and feta cheese. It can be served as a main course with some pasta, rice or toasted bread with oregano and olive oil on top (my favourite).
Lava Cake: Yummy, yummy good for my tummy! This delicious chocolate dessert in Cyprus with a fresh cream and vanilla ice cream.
Cypriot Mahalepi: A refreshing summer pudding in Cyprus made with water, corn starch, rose water and a scoop of rose ice-cream.
